Interviews by Happy Nat:

  • David Bedford – You won’t want to miss my chat with Beatles author/historian David Bedford who tells us the purpose and scope of his two books Liddypool: Birthplace Of The Beatles and his new book The Fab One Hundred and Four. While he’s at it, he gives us a few startling revelations that set the Beatles history record straight on a few items that are not right in some earlier biographies. Don’t believe me? If you are into The Beatles’ story and are not familiar with Dave’s books, you won’t want to miss this. (May 2014)
  • Anthony Robustelli – I met Anthony at the Fest For Beatles Fans in New York in February 2014, when he gave me a copy of his new Beatles book I Want To Tell You, Vol. 1: 1962/1963 which is the first in a series that gives a very in-depth song-by-song analysis as only an experienced musician could. The first volume covers the first two albums and five singles with a surprisingly informative approach. I spoke in detail with Anthony about the book, his career in music and his love for The Beatles. (April 2014)
  • Jonathan Meine of OxTango Music – OxTango has created a much improved remastered account of The Beatles Star Club recordings from December 1962. These recordings sound far better on this set than I ever thought possible. Jonathan goes into more info about the improvements and more including how to get your own copy of the CD set. (March 2014)
  • Kathy McCabe – On the dawn of the release of the Beatles documentary DVD Good Ol’ Freda with the fascinating story of Beatles Fan Club Secretary Freda Kelly, I spoke with the film’s producer Kathy McCabe who reflects on how involved and important Freda’s part was in all of the Beatles goings-on from behind-the-scenes. Freda was more than a secretary but an essential part of The Beatles and manager Brian Epstein’s inner circle. Find out more in my latest discussion with Kathy. (December 2013)
  • Shelley Germeaux – John Lennon Examiner reporter for Examiner.com talks about everything from growing up in the sixties as a Beatles fan, her writing career and acquaintances with others that are part of Beatles history and her pilgrimages to Liverpool, London and New York. She also gives a fascinating explanation of her spiritual connection to John Lennon, covered previously on the Paranormal Examiner column. (September 2013)
  • Judith Kristin – Judith Kristen is back after authoring her first Beatle book, A Date With A Beatle) with Once Upon A Time In Liverpool and for this one she has teamed up with world renown Beatles artist Eric Cash to handle all of the illustrations – and they are incredible (See my interview with Eric in the linked entry immediately below)! Judith’s new book is about how The Beatles got together and is written in the charming Dick-and-Jane Golden Book style of a children’s reader. However between the pages of this simplified account of The Beatles origins, is a deeper message for children and adults alike. Judy tells you all about that herself though in this candid phone chat I had with her. (March 2013)
  • Eric Cash – You’d be hard pressed to find another Beatles artist out there that could top the fascinating oil paintings composed by Eric Cash. Eric’s work seems to be popping up more and more frequently these days in magazines, other Beatles books and websites. Eric discusses his fascinating painting The Introduction (depicting the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney) and his latest Beales book Once Upon A Time In Liverpool with Judith Kristen (author of A Date With A Beatle). (December 2012)
  • Fab 4 Radio’s “Beatle Ed” – While at the Fest for Beatles Fans in Chicago I met up with Matt Burley, otherwise known as “Beatle Ed” who runs the Internet streaming radio station Fab 4 Radio. Internet radio has really been booming over the last few years, so as a big fan of the station myself, I decided to have a talk with him about what sets Fab 4 Radio apart from other Internet stations out there that play lots of Beatles music. The answer is quite a lot! Here is what Beatle Ed had to say. (August 2012)
  • Ryan White & Kathy McCabe – Back in October 2011 I featured former Beatles Fan Club Secretary Freda Kelly’s interview concerning her upcoming film Good Ol’ Freda about her days with the lads. Here I speak with the producer (Kathy McCabe) and director (Ryan White) of the film to hear more about it and what progress has been made. The film due out in early 2013 promises to be a real treat for Beatles fans everywhere. (August 2012)
  • Billy Kinsley – Billy talks about his days as one of The Merseybeats, a band that used to play onstage at Liverpool England’s legendary Cavern Club during the time when The Beatles were playing there too. Billy also discusses later years when he did some session work with The Beatles and Apple artist Jackie Lomax. (July 2012)
