Ed Sullivan Show (DVD reissues)

On September. 7, 2010 UMe will reissue The 4 Complete Ed Sullivan Shows Starring the Beatles with 13 minutes of previously unreleased footage, USA Today reported yesterday, June 22, in its print edition.

The additional footage includes an ad for Beatles dolls and Ed Sullivan’s interview with members of the band, not seen since it aired on May 24, 1964.

Also the reissue will be newly remastered, with audio in mono and a 5.1 remix. Furthermore, the four episodes have the original commercials included from 1964 and 1965.

The Beatles’ appearance on Sullivan’s show on Feb. 9, 1964 was seen by 73 million viewers, which represented 86% of all televisions turned on at the time, and was the most-watched TV program of all-time, up to that point in time.

That's really all I know, Stacia.

Every week it seems that there are new photographs, interviews or film that we have not yet seen. This only goes to support my idea that the Anthology needs to be expanded (perhaps to 20 hours - on blu ray) to include this new material.I actually don't think it would be too difficult. I do not mean create an entirely new documentary, just judiciously add this new footage. Seriously, so much stuff has been found or repaired since the 90's. I'm holding out for a 2014 release date.

Wow!! Awesome! I'll have to save money for these!!

Yep, I have the last issuance but I guess I'll be buying it again.

How on earth do they expect to get 5.1 separation from a mono recording???

Will wonders never cease?!
