At the ending of the Yellow Submarine movie we hear a portion of the “Harrisong” called It’s All Too Much. We get the complete track on the Yellow Submarine soundtrack. Or is it complete?
A little comparison between the movie and the soundtrack reveals that part of the portion we hear in the movie is a verse that is missing from the soundtrack. Apparently some sound engineer (was it Geoff Emerick?) decided that there was “too much” of It’s All Too Much to go on the album, and the verse beginning with the lyric “Nice to have the time to take this opportunity…” that we hear on the film and the chorus previous to that verse are not on the intact account of the song that we hear on the album. So, for this week’s BROW I have decided to give you the complete track reunited with the lost 3rd chorus and 4th verse along with a longer fade out. Actually I have another account of this with an even longer fade out but the quality (although this is mono, folks) is better on this one. There is interesting guitar work on this track. So without further adieu, take it away, George.
