Beatles Rarity Of The Week (All My Loving/Spot The Oddity, Pt. 2)

Posted by on January 10, 2008 at 8:19 pm.

Last week’s “Spot the Oddity” edition of BROW went great so I’m going to try it again. Thanks for the responses. This one is even easier than the last one so let’s see how you do.

See if you can tell what is different about this version of All My Loving that was officially released at one time or another. As a bonus, see if you can tell me where this slightly different version of it was originally found and put your answer in a comment here. Of course, if your going to try this don’t read the comments until you do (that is, if there is any, this time). Good luck to all, or otherwise, you can just enjoy listening to the tune and forget about the little trivia game I’ve cooked up.

It either has stereo or fake-stereo, the american version did not have this.

The fade out at the end seemed different too.

Again when I posted this first on mog.com in Jan. 2008, a solution was arrived at almost immediately. Here is my solution post from a few days later:

As was quickly pointed out by Terry last week, this version of All My Loving (see last post and comments) has a 5 beat hi-hat intro that the US or UK versions did not get. It did appear on the German LP called Beatles Greatest that was released in June 1965 on the Odeon label. This version also surfaced much more recently on a CD called The World's Best that was only available in Germany via mail order. Thanks to Terry and everyone who responded. I'll post another of these within a few days. All the best....
